In today’s article i am going to tell you how to use DateDif function of excel in order to get the date difference in term of number of days , months and years. It can be very useful in many of the applications. So If you would like to use excel for calculating the date difference, follow the simple steps.
- Open Excel.
- Enter the data as shown below.
Column Explanation:
Parameters: Shows the resultant out come parameters.
Start Date: Shows the start date.
End Date: Shows the end date.
Result: Shows the actual result.
Formula : It shows what enter in the formula column.
Explanation for formula:
Last Parameter to DateDif function takes the desired out come required by us.
- For example if it is “y” it will give the result as no. of years between dates.
- For example if it is “m” it will give the result as no. of months between dates.
- For example if it is “d” it will give the result as no. of days between dates.
