To prevent users from accessing the USB Removable Disks follow these steps:

1. Open Registry Editor.

2. In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesUSBSTOR

3. Locate the following value (DWORD) “Start” and give it a value of 4.

Note: As always, before making changes to your registry you should always make sure you have a backup.

4. Close Registry Editor and you are done, no requirement for booting the computer.

Note: To enable USB again follow the same set of steps and set the value as 3 and you are done.
